“On Being A Spoon.”

As I was getting ready for work, I had one of my ‘God-in-the-shower-conversations’ this morning.  I’ve mentioned this before ~~ it’s where God and I have had some of the best communion moments ~~ someone has to invent a shower write board!

Anyway, this morning as I was telling God how thankful I am that He uses me to reach people and connect them to Him, He was impressing upon me this image of a spoon.  I just could not shake this thought ~~ so I went with it.  Here’s what came out of that shower conversation with God … Imagine Him speaking to me …

“You’re a spoon because you stir things up ~~ you get things going so that the environment is not stagnant, but be sure always you stir in love with a gentleness and compassion.”

Psalm 103:13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

“You’re a spoon because you desire to serve up the Word of God.”

1 Peter 4:10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

“There are other spoons, too, in the Body of Christ, all have their own Assignments and Purpose from me, so don’t allow your ego to inflate.”

“I know you have your favorite spoons, but don’t allow yourself to become cliquish or isolate yourself from other spoons.

2 Peter 1:5-8 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Some spoons have a specific purpose and you must respect that and not try to conform them into what you want them to be.  I have made them as equally important as all the rest.”

Psalm 139:14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

“Many, many spoons have come from and live in different parts of the world ~~ embrace them all equally.  I have fashioned them just as beautifully as all the spoons.”

Matthew 8:11 And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven.

“Many of my spoons will transform into something far different than what they originally started from ~~ encourage and lift them up.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

“But most of all, remember that I give all my spoons REST ~~ from their labor.”

Hebrews 4:10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.

God and I have some of the most extraordinary conversations in the shower ~~ He has me captive and without distractions; and I can pour out my soul to Him in total surrender.

I pray that whatever spoon ministry you have been gifted from The Lord, you will cherish and treasure the awesome privilege ~~ and serve with all your heart.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~

I'm a GOD Girl that desires to fulfill the Purpose that He has breathed into her heart: to bring up the ones coming up behind her. Titus 2 encourages women like me to reach out beyond our comfort zones and become transparent and vulnerable for the sake of those who want more of GOD and to walk closer with Him. A perfect past is not mine to speak of -- I don't even know what that is -- but I DO know the One Who holds my future, and He has redeemed me from the hurts of yesterday to give me a hope for tomorrow.
